About the role:
The Senior Software Engineer, Platform Engineering is a hands-on individual contributor responsible for designing, building, and shipping capabilities of the internal developer platform and the integrations that connect engineering tools and processes. This role partners with the Engineering Manager and senior peers to turn platform priorities into reliable, well-tested implementations that measurably improve developer productivity and delivery velocity.
You operate with strong autonomy on scoped initiatives, take features end-to-end, and use AI-augmented workflows and automation - including functional and end-to-end testing - as core tools to ship faster without compromising quality. You contribute to design discussions, mentor peers informally, and raise the engineering bar through high-quality code and pragmatic decision-making.
Your contribution will be:
Design & Delivery
Hands-on Engineering & Automation
Build and extend the Backstage-based IDP - plugins, software templates, scaffolder actions, TechDocs, catalog model, and auth providers.
Build integrations across the engineering toolchain, including:
Treat automation as a first-class deliverable - including functional and end-to-end test automation (e.g., Playwright or Cypress), CI checks, and operational runbooks expressed as code.
Operate the services you build: meet defined SLOs/SLIs, participate in incident response, and learn from incidents.

Target Compensation Range (US ONLY): 95,000 - 160,000 USD annually. On target compensation refers to the base salary and applicable variable target for this role. The range is an estimate, base pay will ultimately be decided at the offer stage, based on an individual candidate’s skills and experience aligned with the needs of the role. Base pay may vary based on several factors including geographic location, role specific qualifications, and seniority. Nintex also offers a competitive benefits package including paid time off, twelve paid holidays, 401(k) with employer match, and more.
